Kimberly McKinney, a teacher at Fifth Street Junior High School, has taught middle school math for 10 years in West Point, MS. Kimberly received her Ph.D. from Mississippi State in 2014 in Elementary, Middle, and Secondary School Administration. Kimberly’s passion and dedication for educating middle school youth is evident in her commitment to remain in the classroom with her young adolescents despite pursuing opportunities for career advancements.

Dr. Nicole C. Miller is an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education at Mississippi State University and currently prepares middle level teacher candidates. Her research interests include middle level teacher preparation, online teacher preparation, teaching with primary sources, and technology integration. Previously, she worked as a social studies and educational technology teacher at a Los Angeles middle school.
